Car Insurance Hyundai (Car Insurance). My honda civic is making a LOUD knocking noise from my ENGINE!!!?

My honda civic is making a LOUD knocking noise from my ENGINE!!!? Okay... So yesterday I was hearing some tapping noises from under my hood BUT there were NO warning lights on my dashboard and the temperature was NORMAL and everything was FINE... usually, if something is WRONG, it will tell me because it has before... and that's what it's suppose to do!!! The tapping noise wasn't that loud and would only happen every so often. We parked the car around 6:30 yesterday evening and then NOW, this morning I started it and it sounds like something is REALLY WRONG!!! Only NOW the ENGINE and OIL light was on!!!... we checked the OIL and there was barely ANY in there!!!... BUT, we had just changed oil 2 weeks ago and we checked under the car, even my uncle checked... & it was put on CORRECTLY!!! There must've been a leak from SOMEWHERE because there is NO WAY that ALL THE OIL could be GONE just in 2 weeks!!!... & the OIL light NEVER came on!!! Not once!!! When I had a leak before, it came on right away!!!... So this morning we put oil in the car... and it's STILL making the LOUD KNOCKING SOUND... I can't drive it anywhere... it STARTS but I don't want to damage it. What is going on????

I don't know where the oil went but at this point it is certain the rod bearings are history. The progression from tapping to a loud knock really tells the story. The intermittent knock makes sense on its own - when the rod bearings don't get lubrication they get pounded to foil and forced out between the rod end and the crank journal shoulders. That cushions the pounding somewhat at low power levels. You are right not to drive it - I expect at least one bearing has spun by now and more damage is certain to occur. Put enough oil in the car to fill it up to the full mark on the dipstick. Watch it for a few days and see what happens. Your engine is tapping because it's not getting any oil. Have you noticed a burning smell or smoke coming from the car while you drive? Is there an oil puddle under the car? If you're really worried about ruining the car just fill the oil back up and take it to a mechanic. There's no way to tell what's wrong with your car over the internet. A competent mechanic needs to look at the car to determine what is wrong. you could have a knocked rod. which if you do then just get a swap for a b16 love those motors anyways re-building the cost just as much as a swap so if it is a rod, dont rebuild.............. waste of money

Why does the front brakes on my motorcycle make a "click" when I pull on the lever? Hello I've been looking at different motorcycles and all of them, when you pull on the lever, will make a nice "click". Now, I wonder, what does it mean when it doesn't make this "click"? I ask this because there's one bike I like and that particular bike doesn't do the clicking sound. car insurance.

Hyundai . How to Remove an A/C Compressor

The compressor is one of the major components of the air-conditioning system in your car. Should it begin to fail, you will notice it immediately, and what used to be a pleasant drive will be very uncomfortable on a hot summer day. Fortunately, removing the compressor so that it can be replaced is a job that most car owners can handle.
Difficulty:Moderate
Instructions Things You'll Need
Air conditioner reclaimer
Set of wrenches

Step by Step :
1
Attach an air conditioning reclaimer's connecting lines to the high and low sides of the a/c system and remove the refrigerant from the system as described in the owner's manual of the reclaimer. For additional information on refrigerant recovery, see the Resources section.
2
Disconnect the battery and take off the accessory drive belt. Jack up the vehicle and secure it on jack stands.
3
Remove the tire and any necessary fascia, lines and shields to get access to the compressor.
4
Locate the suction hose fitting on the compressor and remove the hose from it. Then do the same for the discharge hose fitting.
5
Pull apart the compressor's electrical connector and then remove the mounting bolts, along with the compressor mounting stud. The compressor is now free and can now be maneuvered so that you can remove it.

Hyundai . What Is a Reefer Truck?

A reefer truck is a truck or van usually 1 ton or larger that has a refrigerated unit built either directly on the frame or is transported by trailer. It's refrigerated by diesel-powered generators and liquid carbon dioxide, or CO2. Reefer trucks range from simple ice cream trucks to large containers carrying perishable goods across the country.
Mechanical ReeferA GMC reefer with box built on chassis.
Ice cream maker Borden Company developed one of the first mechanical reefer trucks in the late 1920s for long-haul deliveries.
Advanced TechnologyArticulated reefer Isuzu truck
Reefer trucks haul hundreds of thousands of dollars in goods and require warning systems that monitor the changes in temperature that allows the driver to take corrective measures.
GrowthTractor-trailer reefer rigs became ubiquitous on American highways in the 1950s.
The reefer truck industry exploded following passage of the Federal-Aid Highway Act of 1956, which created an extensive highway/freeway system throughout the United States.
Pre-coolingSmall vans such as this one in Japan are used for urban deliveries.
Reefer truck drivers are required to deliver perishable cargo in perfect condition and must pre-cool refrigerated units before loading goods to ensure a stable and correct temperature.
Environmentally FriendlyNote the cooling unit above the cab and outside the box.
Heavy hauler reefer trucks typically are equipped with an engine, evaporator, condenser and compressor that adhere to strict environmental emissions guidelines.
Not Just Ice CreamReefers now carry any product that requires a cool environment.
Many products require refrigeration before final delivery, with reefer trucks today hauling computers, medical supplies, plasma, blood and photography supplies.

Rear coil springs have rubber bushings to cushion Control arm bushings (lower) them. u* Torsion bars: These are a popular type of spring used on the fronts of many sport-utility vehicles and trucks. They usually run parallel to the frame and are attached to the control arm at one end and the cross member at the other end (see Figure 16-9). Torsion bar springs require no lubrication. Most are adjustable, meaning that if your vehicle is sitting too high or low, you can make an adjustment by turning an adjusting bolt. *<* Air springs: These are filled with the right amount of compressed air to control the ride and maintain the proper height. A computer monitors the ride height and signals an on-board air compressor to pump more air into the air springs whenever weight is added to the vehicle. When the weight is removed, the computer turns on an exhaust solenoid to let air out of the air springs (see Figure 16-10). Usually, there's nothing to lubricate with air springs. But check with the dealer to find out whether it's okay to apply a rubber conditioner to the air bags to prevent them from wearing out prematurely. Taking care of the stabilizers Stabilizers keep the passenger part of the vehicle from swaying and lurching on sharp curves and turns and when the wheels are traveling over uneven ground (a better solution than the legendary mountain goat that had shorter legs on one side than on the other for traveling along slopes!). There are various kinds of stabilizers, but all you need to know is that you can lubricate the rubber parts yourself. Chapter 16: Lubrication Extends the Life of Your Vehicle
